Dear Parents/Carers of year 1 children,
This week we will be resuming our online learning using Google Classroom.
Work will be uploaded daily for your child to complete at home. It is important that your child continues to access as many learning opportunities as possible from home so disruption to their learning is minimised as far as possible.
This week we will be resuming our online learning using Google Classroom.
Work will be uploaded daily for your child to complete at home. It is important that your child continues to access as many learning opportunities as possible from home so disruption to their learning is minimised as far as possible.
Your child has only recently started accessing google classroom in school and so will still need your support and guidance.
Log in details and passwords
Each child has a unique username (email address) and password.
You will shortly receive two separate texts - one containing the username and a second containing your child's password.
DO NOT CHANGE THIS INFORMATION!!!
If you do not receive these texts please email Miss Letherby on
year.1@ctk.education
and I will email you the information.
Devices
Your child will need a device to be able to use the google platform. Ipad/laptop/tablet.
Please let the school office know ASAP if you do not have access to a device as we may be able to loan equipment for the duration of isolation.
Paper work packs are also available for collection from the school office should you wish to collect one.
How it works
Please see the attached parents guide to google classroom. A link to this will also be sent out by text.
https://www.ctk.education/home-learning/parents-guide-to-google-classroom
Go to google homepage.
Click sign in (top right hand corner of screen)
Enter child's username and password.
Once logged in click on the 9 little grey dots (top right of screen) lots of icons will appear.
Click on classroom.
There will then be three tabs
Stream, classwork, people.
Stream allows the children to type messages, attach pictures etc so they can speak to each other and their teachers - we hope that they will find this format more interactive.
Children have been spoken to about their conduct online and should ONLY post sensible, appropriate and respectable comments what they say can be seen by everyone in our classroom.
Classwork is where you will find the daily activities that are posted by the teachers. Points are allocated for each activity. Children who acquire a certain amount of points will get a prize when we return to school.
If you have any queries please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Miss Letherby
