Another cosmic Thursday

It's another gorgeous day with blue sky and sunshine.  Thank you all for staying in contact and sharing photos and emails.  Please remember to comment on the blog and look at the reflection at the end of the day.  We are all missing each other and our friends so it's a super way to keep in touch.

Lets's not forget to spend time in the garden enjoying ourselves with our family.  Having fresh air and just playing is so important.  Just do what you can and enjoy the sun.  

Remember to read your book in the garden.  Have a picnic in the garden with your toys and enjoy.

Whoops it's Wednesday

Good morning Year One
The sun is shining and we're ready to go!  I hope you all had a good evening and a good night's sleep. It's great to wake up to a beautiful blue sky.  Remember to post your comments and check out your friends photos at the end of the day.

Activity 1  
English - Today I want you to draw or make your own space creature/alien.  You can use whatever you like, play-dough, draw it, build it using lego or boxes.  It's up to you! You can create a makeshift alien spaceship out of cardboard boxes or blankets over chairs so that you can imagine being the alien on it's way to earth.

Then you need to name it.  Next,  think of 5 words to describe your alien and then use those words to help you make up your own short story about your space creature landing on earth.

New day Tuesday

Activity 3

Science - Bubble snake
What you need:
plastic bottle         odd old sock         fairy liquid     water     
How to make a bubble snake.
1.  Ask an adult to cut off the bottom of a plastic drinks bottle.
2.  Put the sock over the bottle.
These bubble snakes are an EASY activity for kids! All you need is an empty water bottle and one mismatched sock!

3. Put fairy liquid into water and dip the end of the sock in.

4. Then blow on the mouth piece to make the bubbles.  The harder you blow the more bubbles .  Have fun!

Activity 1

English - This week you created your own superhero spacesuit and made a list of 5 describing words.
Today I would like you to write 5 interesting sentences about your spacesuit design.
Remember what you need at the start of a sentence and what you need to include at the end of your sentence.  Remember to include finger-spaces.  To make your sentences longer you can use the words 'and' or 'because'.  Remember to form your letters correctly.

Activity 3

On Friday in school we have 'Show and Tell'.  This gives us the opportunity to speak about a favourite toy or favourite thing we like to do, favourite place.  In class we focus on speaking in front of others for a set time.  Remember to speak in a sentence not just one word.  You can also time yourself (1 minute) or 2 if you know you have lots to say.  When you have finished, the audience which can be your parents or brother/sisters, can then ask you questions.
