Good morning Year One
Where is the sunshine gone? I suppose I do need some rain to water my garden and help my flowers to grow. I hope you are all well and still smiling. I have had some amazing photos of your space robots from yesterday's activities which I will share at the end of the day. Please remember to comment on the blog or email me as it's great to keep in touch with each other.
Tuesday:
Warm up- Joe Wicks PE 9.00 Youtube
Activity 1
Phonics- I previously planned for you to focus on alternative ways to spell the ee sound which you can still do on phonicsplay if you prefer. However, I've been spent a new link for ear one focus that you can access for yourself.
Just click on the link and scroll down to Year One lessons. Have a go and see how you get on.
Activity 2
Maths- Here is the link for our next lesson on money.
This lesson looks at 2p and 5p and 10p . If you have problems clicking on link you can practice adding coins together to make the total. e.g. 10p + 2p = 5p + 5p + 5p =
You can make them as challenging as possible. Have a go!
Activity 3
Science
Today I wanted you to make a bubble snake to use outside but because the weather isn't great I think it's best to leave it for a sunny day. So why don't we find things in our house that float or sink. You need to find 10 of your own objects. You can use a washing up bowl of water and see whether they float or sink to the bottom. On paper draw two large circles and label with sink or float. Then you can group your objects depending on what you found out.
How many of your objects float/sink? Why do you think some floated and some didn't? Did more objects float/sink?
Can you make something that will float? It could be something for a small toy to fit on. Enjoy!
Reading: Read your level book in the garden
