Monday 8th June

Good morning everyone!
I hope you all had a good weekend enjoying the time at home with your family.  Unfortunately the sunshine didn't come out to play.Let's hope this week will be better.  If you are not in school please remember to say hello on the blog and keep sending your work by email.  We are trying a slightly different maths video this week so let's see how it works.  You can let me know at the end of the day.

Warm up – Go noodle

Activity 1

English: Our story this week will be’ Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam’ by Tracey Corderoy

Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam | Nosy Crow
Click on the link below to listen to the story.

Look at the cover, title page and first double spread of the story and listen to the story. Talk about what we have found out so far about the characters and the story. What does gloomy mean?  Why might the robber dogs be feeling gloomy?
Listen to the next couple of pages. What would you like to happen next? Should Shifty and Sam carry on robbing?
Listen to the rest of the story allowing time to talk about the pictures. Can you spot the spider on every page?
Talk about the story
Which page do you each like best? Share favourites and talk about what is happening in the story and pictures.
Talk about how the characters changed in the story and what made a difference to them.
Can you draw your favourite character and write a sentence saying why it’s your favourite character?
 Activity 2
Maths: To recognise and read and write numbers to 100

Activity 3

Art: To design your own wanted poster.  Look at the example here to help you.  I'm sure you could make yours much better with more added information about the two characters.
The Book Sniffer: Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam -

Reading and phonics: Read your level book in the garden.

Have a great day and see you later.
